My initial interest in the Joyces was in learning of the connection with the Downey family of Perry and Franklin Counties, Ohio. Many of the Joyces owned or ran bottling factories in the midwest, including several 7-UP factories. At some point in the early 1900s John R. Downey joined William Joyce in bottling ventures in Columbus, OH and married a Joyce: Adrienne M. (Mary).

It is clear that the Joyces of Perry Co., OH have connections with WV Joyces.
