     Jacob Corey '18, 16, 13, 63, 101, 206, etc. The Foster Record, compiled by Frank Mortimer Hawes, contains about four pages relating to the Corey family, though it does not settle the parentage of Mary, wife of Ensign King. John Youngs is designated in the Southold Town Records as 'farmer' and :Jun'r.'
In 1683 he was Ensign of the troop of horse, and just before his death, in 1685 he was commisioned Lieut.
In 1874 he received a deed of gift from his father of land called 'West Neck,' and adjoing the 'moore farm' on the west. It is now covered by the village of greenport. John and his descendants occupied it for four generations.
His wife brought him consierable property, and he made several purchases and sale of lands.
On Jan 27, 1684, his widow was appointed administrator of his estate ..
In the census of 1686, the family of 'Mary Youngs widow:' consists of three males and two females. The males evidently were his sons Daniel, William and Joshua, the latter then two years of age.
The census of 1698 gives the names of this family in a group as follows: 'Mary Youngs, widow, Daniel Youngs, William Youngs, Joshua Youngs.
In a later generation the name of this Joshua's father was supposed to have been Zerrubable, but Joshua was in this family from infancy, and it appears to have heen an error.
