This affair was an incident of an expedition from Morganza to
the Fausse river under Lieut.-Col. Asa L. Gurney. Sixty
Confederates were encountered at Rosedale, and after a short
skirmish they fled to the woods to escape a Federal charge.

No casualties were reported.
