He It is said that every Saturday night he dressed up in his [Civil War] uniform and cape and came into New Lexington to enjoy himself.1 He was buried at OH; "He was buried from St. Rose Catholic Church and buried in Maplewood cemetery in New Lexington, OH.1 He was born in 1838.1 He was the son of Michael Gibbons and Grace Genevieve Sweeney.1 Patrick (Paddy) Gibbons died on 7 March 1921 at Rehoboth, Perry, OH; New Lex Herald Obit 10 Mar 1921: "PADDY" GIBBONS DEAD.
The death of "Paddy" Gibbons, a veteran of the Civil War and well known here, occurred at this home at Rehoboth Tuesday night. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. "Paddy" served under Gen. Sheridan and had a splendid war record.1,2
