Mrs. Barks was a member of Grace M. E. church and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends in this city.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earnest B. (Evebelle)Geiger, this city, and Mrs. Morton (Marie) Judkins of Chicago, Ill; five grandchildren of East Liverpool, Ohio, and two cousins of this city.
The body will arrive here Wednesday evening and funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock from the Mader-Peoples chapel with Rev. O.L. Seward in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

The obsequies were under the Bayard Taylor council, Royal Arcanum, of Newark, and of Hope Council of this city. Rev. C. E. Barnes, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church conducted a simple religious service. The regular church choir also furnished the music for the sad occasion. The pall bearers were H. D. Woodbridge, F. L. Jones and C. H. Wesson of the Newark lodge and G. E. Closman, J. Taylor and Dr. J. K. Smith of the Hope council. The friends from a distance were Charles Hill Ross, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Bun Brown, Columbus; F. L. Woodbridge, Mrs. Helen Dickinson and Mr. and Mrs. William Prout of Newark.

21 Sep Obituary from The Zanesville Signal.1 Evebelle Ross Prout was A German choirmaster noticed her deep contralto voice and arranged for her to sing at Sunday evening mezzanine concerts in the downtown hotels.

Mother agrees to local vaudeville theater, the Keith, manager for Eva to debut there.

During week at the Keith was heard by booking agent of another theater circuit and began summer performances.

The only reference to "The Perils of Pauline" in this year are to a 20 part silent episodic series. It is, though, in the article referred to as a movie.

I have found and ordered a video of "9 Chapters" of this series. It is unclear how many of the 20 episodes are included in it. Some websites infer that some or many of the episodes have been lost.
