Sloan leads to check out and 'fit in'...
Bill Thompson on Sloan Board: Note
the common Campbell Fulton connection.
Searching for all descendants of John Campbell Sloan and Mary Fulton, of PA. Thanks to folks using this message board, I have their children as:
John C. Sloan, b. abt. 1874 in Alleheny Co., PA;
Anna M. Sloan, b. abt. 1879 ditto;
Emma Sloan, b. abt. 1881;
Howard Renwick Sloan, b. abt. 1883; and
Luella Elizabeth Sloan, b. abt. 1885.
In Pine Twp. you show a John CAMPBELL, age 6_, and Wife Elizabeth. He was born
March 15, 1781. His wife was Elizabeth BELL, b. Lancaster Co., PA. Two of their
daughters married Sloan brothers, who were born in County Cork, Ire.
Mary Ann CAMPBELL (1812 - 1890) m. James Louis SLOAN b. abt. 1804 shows on your 1850 census data in Reserve Twp.
Jane CAMPBELL (1817 - 1887), m. Robt. [Frank Mitchell believes the middle initial is 'J'] SLOAN (abt 1811 - 1862). They are the family that is enumerated twice in Allegheny City.
Your conjecture about the Pine Twp. census, that the John C. SLOAN, age 11 listed in the John CAMPBELL household was a son of Mary Ann and James Louis SLOAN, seems almost certain Jane and Robert also had a John C. SLOAN, but he was born in 1848, so he would have been only 2 then.
I'm looking for ALL their descendants, so please pass the word, if you encounter other researchers of these families.
I'm afraid I can't help you much -- the only DAUGHERTY I have is Bill DAUGHERTY, b. 1895 in Coffeyville, KS, m. Faye Venda HOYT (1898 - 1985). Thanks again.
