The earliest known couple in this line is Richard Jackson and his wife Jane. Richard was born in 1818 in Northumberland England. His son Joseph Jackson immigrated about 1870 and lived in Allegheny County, PA.

It is believed that Jane was also a Jackson, but whether she was a cousin of Richard is not certain.
